Offered is an interesting Civil War era shoulder board. It is for an infantry captain. Has a blue cloth center surrounded by bullion wire. It measures 4 13/16" by 1 1/2" wide. Reverse has paper backing which is mostly intact. What is interesting to note is this board was originally made for an artillery captain. Crimson felt is visible where the blue material wore off. The bullion wire bordering the edge is loose on one edge and missing from a short end. The board is in fantastic condition for its age and is guaranteed to be 100% original.
